Strong correlations in hot QCD

چکیده

After reviewing briefly the basic strategy of analyzing the RHIC data, recent lattice results of the non-pertubative/strong-coupling aspects of quark-gluon plasma probed primarily by the heavy quarks are presented. In particular, free energies of static quarks in various color channels, the Debye screening mass and the spatial string tension above the pseudo-critical temperature are discussed on the basis of the full QCD simulations with staggered quarks and with Wilson quarks. Current status of the equal-time Bethe-Salpeter wave functions and the spectral functions of the charmoniums in quenched QCD simulations is also summarized. It is argued that the hot plasma above the (pseudo-)critical temperature Tc is still strongly interacting up to T ∼ (1.5− 2)Tc so that hadronic bound states or resonances made of strange, charm and bottom quarks in certain channels may survive inside the plasma. An attempt to extract the spectral functions at finite T in full QCD simulations is also mentioned.

Triquark correlations and pentaquarks in a QCD sum rule approach

The role of quark correlations in the description of hadron dynamics in many domains of physics, from low energy dynamics to very hot(dense) systems, is being appreciated. Strong correlations of two quarks (diquark) have been widely investigated in this respect. Recently, we have proposed a dynamical scheme to describe the Θ pentaquark in which also three quark correlations (triquark) were inst...

Three Quark Clusters in Hot and Dense Nuclear Matter

We present a relativistic in-medium three-body equation to study correlations in hot and dense quark matter. The equation is solved for a zero-range force for parameters close to the phase transition of QCD.

Universal Properties of Angular Correlations in Qcd Jets

Predictions for angular correlations between an arbitrary number of partons are derived in the high energy limit. The quantities considered depend on angles and primary energy through a single variable ε which implies certain scaling properties and relations between quite different observables. These asymptotic predictions derived in the double log approximation of QCD are checked against Monte...

Model in Hot QCD ∗ Chris

Magnetic quasi-particles in hot QCD predict Casimir scaling for the tension σ of spatial Wilson loops. Recently this scaling has been verified on the lattice to 1–2% precision. We review how spatial loops tell us about the nature of the plasma state. The strong first order nature for more than five colours and the fast drop of the topological susceptibilty at Tc found in simulations of hot quen...

Topologically induced local P and CP violation in hot QCD

Very stringent experimental bounds exist on the amount of P and CP violation in strong interactions. Nevertheless, the presence of non-Abelian topological solutions and the axial anomaly make the issue of CP invariance in QCD non-trivial (”the strong CP problem”). Even in the absence of a global P and CP violation the fluctuations of topological charge in the QCD vacuum are expected to play an ...
